TThe painting refers to Ukiyo (floating world) – period in Japanese history during the Edo period (17th – 19th century), during which the philosophy of life was to live for the present moment, enjoy life and let yourself drift in the flow of time. The crumpled heart symbolizes an unhappy love, as the rules forbade geisha to have a relationship or marry. The size of the picture is 190 x 112 cm.
It is painted with ink on watercolor paper of a higher grammage with a fine structure.
Painting is not framed (I can have it framed if you are interested).
