In a series of three paintings entitled They, I reacted to undesirable phenomena in politics, which include hoaxes, lies, misleading, nationalism, right-wing extremism or the connection of some politicians to the network of organized crime. I worked with symbols and, in addition to obvious ones, I also added hidden meanings in the images (the shiny surface treatment of the figures refers to populism, in connection with the material – wood to false conservatism, the disappearing microphones to the suppression of media freedom and attempts to legitimize hoaxers, the sharpness of the edges of the lectern resembles a sword…).
