The oil painting Thumbelina is inspired by a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. He captures a little girl as small as a thumb, sitting on a water lily. She is accompanied by a toad, to whom his mother wants to marry her – the old toad.

The picture is created using the technique of layered oil painting on a canvas stretched on an internal wooden frame.
